A 5-month-old infant died on Saturday after police found him unresponsive between the wall and a queen-size mattress at a house in Clearwater.
Clearwater Police responded to the 1800 block of East Drive where they found the child.
DCF says that the baby was placed between the wall and the mattress to sleep.
Clearwater PD is conducting the death investigation. Our Child Protection Investigation Division is also conducting their own investigation.
Additionally, a Critical Incident Rapid Response Team is conducting a review because, in the last year, DCF responded to an incident at that same address.
