One man is fighting for his life after being shot on S. Madison Ave. around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.  Police are still searching for the shooter.

So far, the victim's name has not been released.  Several neighbors say the victim was a father in his 50s who has never caused any trouble.

Keontae Brown was riding his bike down the street when he saw a car he thought looked suspicious.  He kept going, and then heard at least five shots fired.  He then saw two men running from the house, hop into the car, and speed away.

"I thought I was going to get shot by a stray bullet.  I don't want them coming back around here again, especially don't want them coming to me," said Brown.

Several neighbors say there's been a spike in crime in the neighborhood in recent months, so a lot of people have put up security cameras.  They're now hoping some of those cameras caught images that could help police track down the vehicle and suspects involved in the shooting.

Neighbors also say at least two other witnesses saw the entire ordeal unfold, and rushed to the victim's side to help.  Police say the victim was flown to an area hospital in critical condition.
