Temps around the Tampa Bay area will be in the mid 80's all weekend. Friday folks packed Clearwater Beach to enjoy their holiday with a little fun in the sun.
Christmas day on Clearwater Beach was perfect. Temps in the 80's made it feel more like summer to folks basking in the sun.
"Unbelievable, it's gorgeous," said Rudy Garcia of Chicago.
"It's amazing, because I've never been to the beach before so it's a great experience," said Megan Facile who was visiting from Iowa.
Even by Florida standards, Friday's Christmas day temps were warm and plenty of families took advantage of it. Hitting the beach to have a bit of fun.
"It's a little strange celebrating Christmas on the beach. It's the first time I've ever done it," said Frank Klimala of Chicago.
Florida isn't the only part of the country seeing great weather. A ridge of high pressure is bringing above average temps to the entire East Coast. In parts of the Northeast, highs are expected to be close to 30 degrees above normal. Folks near and far thankful for this years gift from Mother Nature.
"The weather gods were upon us and they gave us good weather and we're very blessed and very happy," said Klimala.
