Divers are searching for a man who went into the water in Lake Thonotosassa on Wednesday evening.
Hillsborough County Sheriff's divers started searching for him since shortly after 7 p.m. They used sonar technology to try to find him. Authorities said he went into the water to grab a noodle to either bring it back onto the boat or to use it to stay afloat.
Hillsborough County Fire rescue told ABC Action News he was on a pontoon boat with other people and none of them knew how to swim.
A friend of the missing man told ABC Action News he is 21 years old. Authorities have not released any additional information about him. We're told divers have suspended the search for the night and will resume after sunrise today..
