YBOR CITY, Fla. — Why did the Ybor City chicken cross the road? Probably not to get stuck in a CBD shop window and break more than $1,000 worth of glass pipes.

It happened on Sunday, according to Carlos Hermida, owner at Chillum CBD and Glass Gallery.

“The poor chicken felt trapped and was scared. It's safety was a major concern. It could have gotten seriously hurt by the broken glass," said Hermida.

Surveillance video from inside the shop shows the chicken wander in and make its way to the front window display. There it seems to get trapped and in the panic, it breaks some of the glass pieces that were on display.

"Unfortunately, it broke about 1.2K worth of glass art, fortunately it eventually walked out of the store unharmed!," Hermida said.

The shop says it sells high end pieces of glass art that also function as pipes for $400 to $1,000.
