WWII Wings of Freedom Tour landing in Tampa this week

TAMPA, Fla. — The World War II Wings of Freedom Tour is coming to Tampa this week and will be on display at the Tampa Executive Airport until Thursday afternoon.

The Wings of Freedom Tour is a traveling historical display of World War II air crafts.

From noon on Monday, February 4 to noon on Thursday, February 7, a B-17, a B-24 and a P-51 will be on display a the airport and you can take a tour or take a 30-minute flight experience. Learn more here.

The B-17 is one of only 9 in flying condition in the United States. The B-24J Liberator is the only remaining example of its type in the flying world. The P-51 "Toulouse Nuts" fighter received the Grand Champion Award for restoration, according to a press release.

Tours are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 12. There are discounted rates for school groups. Flights on the B-17 or B-24 are $450 per person and P-51 flight training is $2,400 for a half hour and $3,400 for a full hour.
