HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A 24-year-old woman was killed early Wednesday morning after she crashed into a concrete barrier, a fireworks tent and an abandoned car wash.

The sheriff's office says Shanda Cypress lost control of her silver 2019 Infinity GX50 around 3:20 a.m. at the intersection of Durant Road and Lumdsen Road.

Authorities say Cypress was driving eastbound on Lumsden at a high rate of speed when she crashed. She hit a concrete barrier and lost control of her vehicle.

Deputies say she then hit an excavator and continued east where she hit a CAT grader. Police say she then went into a Galaxy Fireworks tent and came to a final rest after hitting the outer wall of an abandoned car wash.

Cypress' vehicle was found resting upside down on its roof hours later by a road construction crew.

Authorities say Cypress was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is suspected to be a factor. She died at the scene.

The investigation is on-going.
