TAMPA, Fla. — A person is in critical condition after a stabbing at a Tampa hookah lounge, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies say it happened at the Last Hour Hookah Lounge on Dale Mabry.
The call came in at about 4:22 a.m. Detectives say all they know right now is the 27-year-old victim was reaching down for his phone when he was stabbed in the upper body.
The victim of the stabbing was take to AdventHealth Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Authorities say nobody in the hookah lounge is cooperating at the moment.
The Sheriff's Office is asking for anyone who was in the hookah lounge around the time of the incident to call (813) 247-8200.
It's unknown at this point whether it was a targeted or random attack. There is no threat to the public at this time, officials say. However, they also have not released any information on any possible suspect.
Authorities say they are checking to see if there is surveillance video from inside and are using every means possible to find out what exactly happened.
