Vice President Mike Pence visits Tampa for Trump campaign rally

TAMPA, Fla. -- Vice President Mike Pence made his way to Hillsborough County Wednesday afternoon to show his support for his running mate.

Vice President Pence was at the Venetian Events Center to speak at a "Keep America Great" event.

The Vice President addressed topics like national security, religious freedom and showing support for troops in the rally.

The economy was also a big talker and Vice President Pence really emphasized the creation of jobs. He said nationwide, the Trump Administration helped create 7 million jobs and 600,000 in Florida.

Vice President Pence said those numbers are still growing. He added because of the trade deal with China, he promised tens of thousands of more jobs will be created.

Vice President Pence looks to do his part in helping President Trump maintain Florida's support as the nation's ongoing tension with the Middle East has placed the U.S. President at the center of heavy scrutiny. On top of that, Vice President Pence's running mate also has to deal with the looming Senate impeachment trial.
