TAMPA, Fla. -- The University of South Florida announced the school is tweaking its academic calendar in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

USF announced the school will move spring break from its original dates of March 15 to 21 to April 12 to 18. USF explained in a press release that the new dates will allow USF "to deliver the last two weeks of instruction and final exams remotely."

“The University of South Florida continues to prioritize the health and well-being of our university community as we develop plans for the spring semester,” USF President Steve Currall said in a press release. “We remain committed to making evidence-based decisions that support academic continuity and a safe environment for student and faculty success.”

USF said these changes will not affect the first and last dates of the school's spring semester.
