TAMPA, Fla. — A Tampa woman was left stranded at the gym before going to work Thursday morning.

"When I came out to look for my car, it’s not there," said Taylor Skrodzki. "Panic at first and then I kind of started second-guessing myself because it is early in the morning, maybe I didn’t have enough coffee."

Skrodzki said she left her valuables in the women's locker room at LA Fitness, 301 South Dale Mabry Highway, around 4 a.m.

According to Tampa police, two people swiped her keys and stole her Ford Edge from the popular gym's parking garage.

Police officers spotted Skrodzki's SUV the next morning parked at a business along East Hillsborough Avenue.

Officers successfully boxed-in the stolen vehicle and arrested the two inside.

Christopher Clay Regis Lane and Michelle Harrell have been charged with grand theft auto and auto burglary.

While her vehicle was recovered, Skrodzki says one important item cannot be replaced. It was stolen from the center console.

Her fiance gave her a handwritten letter when he proposed last month.

"Everything else can be replaced but some things just can’t and I don’t know, it just breaks your heart," said Skrodzki.

LA Fitness is not commenting on what happened.

After working out at the popular gym for years, Skrodzki now questions if she will return and is calling on staff to tighten up security.

"You should be keeping track of people that are coming in and out of those doors and not having video surveillance at this day and age."
