TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa International Airport CEO and the Vice President of Communications have both tested positive for COVID-19.

Officials said TPA CEO Joe Lopano and Vice President of Communications Veronica Cintron are both in quarantine.

After receiving the results, the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority began contacting all employees and associates who have been in close contact with them. So far, all those who have been tested received negative results.

The Authority had events at TPA this past week where face masks and social distancing were mandatory. However, the Authority is offering employees and their immediate family members free rapid testing this weekend.

Both Lopano and Cintron are doing well, officials said.

Lopano is experiencing no symptoms and Cintron has mild symptoms. Both are in quarantine.
