TAMPA, Fla. -- Sweetwater Organic Farms is coming back to life after closing in January.
Prior to closing its doors earlier in the year, the farm served Floridians for about 26 years. On Sunday, the nonprofit organization running the farm will relaunch with a new set of board members and will reopen the beloved Sunday Market.
The nonprofit organization launched a community crowdfunding website to help raise $100,000 to bring the farm back to life.
In just four days, Sweetwater Organic Farms was able to raise those funds to start a new season. Sweetwater Sunday Market will be open weekly from noon to 4 p.m.
They will resume the u-pick of fruits and vegetables and will bring back educational events like field trips. The farm is also accepting volunteers for the events.
