Florida Senator Janet Cruz is continuing to push for safer water in all of Florida schools.

After SB 66 failed to pass in the 2019 session, Sen. Cruz decided to take matters into her own hands.

She's privately raising money to put water filters in every Hillsborough County school that was built before 1986,

"So far, we've raised $100,000 in a couple of months. We need $25,000 more to install a filter on every fountain and we're raising more so we can replace the filters next year," says Sen. Cruz on Good Morning Tampa Bay at 7AM on our ABC Action News Streaming Now devices.

Sen. Cruz has refiled the bill and hopes it passes in the next session.
