Rollover crash closes I-275 at SR-60 in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla.— The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating crash that caused a car traveling in the opposite direction to catch fire.

According to FHP, a car trying to enter northbound I-275 from SR-60 lost control while merging. It veered across two lanes of traffic and collided with the concrete barrier in the center median.

The impact with the median caused a chunk of concrete to project into the southbound lanes of I-275. Two cars hit the concrete and one erupted into flames.

In addition, after the first car rolled over after hitting the median and it was hit by another car.

Several drivers sustained minor injuries.

I-275 remains closed in both directions.
