A Plant City gas station clerk was shot in the face despite complying with an armed robber's wishes Sunday night.

A little before midnight at the Sunoco at 2911 James L. Redman Pkwy, police say a masked suspect entered the store, took out a gun and ordered the clerk to open the register.

The clerk did and the suspect took some of the cash.

Surveillance video then shows the clerk standing by with his hands in the air when the suspect suddenly shoots him in the face and runs out of the store.

Police say that suspect covered their entire face and body with a shirt, long pants, long sleeves, gloves and a black hat.

The clerk is in serious condition at a local hospital, and Plant City PD is searching for the suspect.
