It is a wooded area along the CSX railway line south of West Linebaugh Ave.

At its height, the fire involved nearly 10-acres and began to threaten the Lumber Specialties lumber yard located to the north.

HCFR crews spent two hours fighting the blaze with brush trucks, engines, Florida Forestry equipment and even an aerial Bambi bucket in coordination with HCSO to drop water via helicopter in efforts to contain the spread.

The amount of firefighting personnel and apparatus used was the equivalent of a two-alarm fire.

At one point, a second command was established at the lumber yard to prevent the fire from spreading to a large amount of stored wood, wood structures and sawdust.

The HCFR's efforts were successful and the fire was extinguished with no injuries or damages to any structures.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
