TAMPA, Fla. — An 86-year-old woman fighting cancer got a sweet surprise from the staff at Moffitt Cancer Center's Urgent Care the day after her birthday.

Jennifer Dagher says that her mom turned 86 on June 1 and had to visit the urgent care the next day as she battles cancer.

The staff there surprised her with a bundle of birthday balloons.

"Every time we have to go, the staff at Moffitt's urgent care is fantastic. They go above and beyond not only for my mother and myself, but the love and care they give to each patient is genuine and sincere," Dagher said in an email. "They are excellent, I cannot say enough great things about them."

Dagher said her mother has suffered some complications during her battle with cancer but has never given up.

"She has never given up no matter how difficult and painful," Dagher said. "She is amazing, an inspiration."

Dagher said the doctors and nurses at Moffitt who treat her mother are "exceptional."

"She is alive today because her team of doctors and nurses at Moffitt, they are extraordinary," she said.
