TAMPA, Fla. -- Moffitt Cancer Center went through a major shakeup at the leadership level Wednesday night.
Its CEO Dr. Alan List and center director Thomas Sellers both resigned amid "conflict of interest violations" through their work in China, according to a release from the Moffitt Cancer Center.
The cancer center said it started an internal review of collaborations with research institutions in China after federal officials warned of "foreign attempts" to influence or compromise U.S. researchers.
The Moffitt Cancer Center said it doesn't believe its research was compromised or that patient care will be affected.
