TAMPA, Fla. — Metropolitan Ministries volunteers are busy setting up the organization's holiday tent just in time for Christmas, but they're low on food donations.

Metropolitan started the holiday tent nearly 40 years ago — back then it was on their campus. The tent has grown to the size of a football field and is now in an open field on North Rome Ave.

"We are here to meet the need of our community, " Vice President of Marketing Justine Burke told ABC Action News earlier in the holiday season.

The nonprofit is asking for the following items for Christmas:

  • Hams
  • Yams
  • Cereal
  • Teen boy gifts

There are many different ways you can donate. You can go to the holiday tent at 2609 N. Rome Ave, send money through their website or go to one of their other locations. For more details, click here.
