Arrest made after bicyclist critically injured in Tampa hit-and-run crash

TAMPA, Fla. — A bicyclist remains in critical condition at a local hospital after being hit by a vehicle Sunday morning.

Tampa Police said the crash happened at the intersection of S. Westshore Blvd. and W. Wyoming Ave.

Officers say a Nissan Murano hit the victim and drove off. Moments later, a white sedan struck the bicyclists as he laid injured in the roadway.

Police searched the surrounding neighborhood looking for the suspect vehicles. An officer came upon a Nissan Murano with extensive damage while checking the Jefferson at Westshore apartment complex.

Detectives established Yori McMillan was the driver. They say when questioned, he admitted to being the driver at the time of the crash.

Police impounded the Murano and arrested McMillian for Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Serious Bodily Injury, and Driving While License Suspended and Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Serious Bodily Injury.

Detectives say the hit-and-run remains an open investigation as police continue to look for the driver of the white sedan.
