RIVERVIEW, Fla. — The Hillsborough County Public Utilities crews are working to contain a large water main break near St. Joseph's Hospital on Big Bend Road.

The water main break is affecting many businesses and an apartment complex in the area, according to officials.

All roads remain open at this time, but more than 30 businesses, including some big box stores and several restaurants, are without water at this time.

Officials say the hospital still has water service because the medical center is served by redundant water mains.

Businesses and residents in the area that need to take boil-water precautions have already been notified.

The affected area is south of Big Bend Road between Simmons Loop and US 301.

Crews say the water main break is expected to be repaired later this afternoon or evening, a time was not provided.
