TAMPA, Fla. — A good Samaritan is being thanked after he saved three kittens on Thursday that were left in a dumpster, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay says.

The man, who has not been named, saw an unfamiliar vehicle drop a box in his company's dumpster. He went to check out what was in the box and he found the three black and white kittens.

"Please do your due diligence to find PROPER HOUSING for YOUR animal(s). Letting an animal loose, dropping them off in a park OR THROWING THEM AWAY is illegal!" the Humane Society wrote online.

The Humane Society says they will provide an update on the kittens when they have one. They are currently being assessed.
