Hillsborough School Choice applications due Monday, Dec. 31 for 2019-2020 school year

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — The deadline for Hillsborough County School Choice Applications is fast approaching for parents and caregivers.

Apply For Hillsborough County School Choice

All applications need to be submitted by Monday, December 31, 2018 for the 2019/2020 school year. This is for all elementary, middle and high school students.

School Choice provides parents and legal guardians with children entering grades K-11 the opportunity to choose three non-magnet schools or Career & Technical Education programs.

Parents may choose from a list of schools with space available. However, school bus transportation may be limited or not available in some areas.

Here’s how to apply for school choice step by step:

Step 1: Locate your attendance area school
Attendance area schools are schools based upon your residential address. Visit the Hillsborough School Locator to identify your attendance area elementary, middle and high schools.

Step 2: Explore your options
• List of Schools in each area
• Magnet Schools
• School Choice Attractor Programs
• Career and Technical
• Choice Hardship
• Partnership Schools
• Hillsborough Virtual
• Charter Schools (contact school directly for application information)

For parents who opt to send their child to their zoned school, simply take the required documents to the elementary school site to register your child.

Step 3: Apply Directly Online
You will receive a confirmation email that your application was received in the system.

You will be notified via email and phone of the results by mid-February 2019. Parents can accept the assignment by responding online or by calling the Choice Information Line at (813) 272-4692.
