Hillsborough deputies search for driver of white sedan after deadly hit and run in Lithia

LITHIA, Fla. — Expect slow going on South Miller Road in Lithia Saturday morning.

Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies are on the scene of a deadly hit and run traffic incident, Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a tweet before dawn Saturday.

No details have been released about the incident that occurred shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday on Miller Road just north of Lithia Pinecrest Road, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

A body and bicycle were found on scene early Saturday.

Deputies launched a search for a white sedan seen heading west on Oaklane Road about the same time.

Detectives would like to speak to the driver of the white sedan in regards to the hit and run, a Hillsborough County sheriff's news release said.
