The Hillsborough County School District released their proposed bell schedule for the 2018-2019 school year online Tuesday.
According to their website, "the proposed changes will secure instructional time for all students, allow students to gain extra time in P.E., music and the arts and greatly improve bus efficiency to make sure children get to class on time."

Superintendent Jeff Eakins added, via video, that the proposed changes come from the 27-minute turnaround time that bus drivers face for successful pickup and drop off of high school and elementary school students.
In addition to getting students to class on time, the improved efficiency will redirect $2.5 million from transportation back into the classroom to support instruction for students.
The proposed school bell schedule will be presented to the school board on April 25.
