TAMPA, Fla. – A search is underway for a man accused of opening fire inside a convenience store and running off with stolen cash.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect walked into the Shell gas station at 4330 Lithia Pinecrest Road in Valrico a little before 11 p.m. on Saturday. Surveillance video showed the man pointing a gun at a store clerk, demanding money from the cash register.
At one point, the man pointed the gun away and fired a round through a display shelf. The clerk eventually opened the cash register and the suspect grabbed some money and ran out of the store.
