TAMPA, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a traffic fatality on I-275 southbound at Busch Boulevard after a vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian on the interstate.
FHP said a box truck was traveling south on I-275 when a person attempted to walk across the interstate. The person entered the path of the truck and was struck.
According to FHP, the person suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
I-275 southbound was closed at Fowler Avenue during the investigation. All lanes are now open.
