BRANDON, Fla. — ECHO of Brandon, an emergency care organization in the Tampa Bay area, is now in need of full-size toiletries, including shampoo, conditioner, and men's and women's deodorant.

Echo of Brandon has been around for more than 30 years in the Tampa Bay area and helps individuals and families with emergency needs with food and clothes. They aim to give out one week's worth of food and clothes to those who need it.

This year, ECHO has seen an unanticipated rise in the number of people they serve, according to Myriam Lugo, the center director for the Brandon facility. They also said their family sizes that they serve are going up, making the need for these goods even greater.

"Toiletries is always the last thing that gets purchased," Lugo said. "And also with food stamps, or SNAP benefit, you cannot purchase that so that's more of a luxury when they come here."
