TAMPA, Fla. -- Publix is warning shoppers about a fake coupon circulating around social media.
Over the last couple of days, a coupon claiming to give "everyone FREE $80 Coupon to celebrate 75th Anniversary!" has circulated on social media. The grocery store chain took to Twitter to warn shoppers that the online coupon is fake.
"We recommend you don’t click the link or provide your personal information," Publix said on Twitter.

Publix has been around for over 88 years, making the coupon's claim for a "75th anniversary" celebration that much more suspicious.
This isn't the first time the Florida-headquartered grocery chain is seeing fake coupons circulating on social media.
Back in 2016, there was fake coupon claiming that it would give shoppers $75 off their purchase when they spend $80 or more. The grocery store chain discouraged shoppers from participating in the fake promotion.
Publix says those looking to save on their groceries can click here for coupons and special deals.
