LITHIA, Fla. — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred in Lithia Tuesday evening.
Shortly before 7 p.m., a man in his 20s called 911 to say that he had been threatened with a gun by his adult male relative.
In fear for his life, the caller said he got his gun and shot his relative multiple times, according to HCSO.
After arriving at a home located on the 15000 block of Starling Water Drive in Lithia, deputies found the caller's relative dead.
Deputies said they are conducting interviews and collecting evidence at the home.
At this time, deputies believe the shooting is domestic-related and no arrests have been made.
"I am heartbroken for this family who is dealing with so much tragedy just two days before Thanksgiving," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "The shooter is cooperating with deputies, and the investigation is ongoing."
No further details, including the identities of both men, have been released.
