TAMPA, Fla. -- A local community is rallying to help a Tampa police officer who is battling brain cancer.
According to Rise Tampa, Matt McNeal is a 33-year-old TPD officer who is also a husband and dad of two. He had been with the department since 2014.
Rise Tampa said while he was home, McNeal collapsed and was taken to the hospital, where it was later revealed he had "an abnormality on his brain which was later diagnosed as an aggressive form of brain cancer."
As the McNeal family band together to fight the disease, Rise Tampa is collecting donations to help the family.
