TAMPA, Fla. -- The coronavirus pandemic has prompted several Tampa Bay area schools to cancel senior prom.
But that didn’t stop this Tampa Catholic High School student from getting creative and bringing the special dance — to his girlfriend.
Sophia, who attends the Academy of the Holy Names in Tampa, was told to wear her prom dress and go over to her boyfriend’s house for pictures.
When Sophia arrived, her mother Marta Montero said her daughter cried when she saw her boyfriend Drake surprised her. He had sprinkled confetti on the stairs, decorated the living room with lights and streamers, bought her flowers, and had dinner and a playlist of music ready to enjoy.
Montero said, when one memory was taken away — a new memory was made.
