TAMPA — The call has gone out for young black and Hispanic men who have a desire to go to college.

The 13th Annual Black, Brown & College Bound Summit, hosted by Hillsborough Community College, is returning to Tampa March 7 to 9.

The summit aims "to address the national problem of a lack of student success in the areas of persistence, retention and graduation for all students and in particular African American and Latino males," the Hillsborough Community College's History of the BBCB Summit webpage said.

The goal of the three-day seminar is to expose participants to accomplished professional men and programs geared to help black and Hispanic young men succeed in college

HCC launched its first Black, Brown & College Bound Summit in 2006. The program has grown in stature and popularity over the years.

This year's event will be staged at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel, 700 S. Florida Ave. in Tampa, March 7 to 9.
