TAMPA, Fla. — Hillsborough Fire Rescue said a gas leak near I-75 and Big Bend Road forced the closure of Big Bend Road on Thursday afternoon.
A third party contractor hit a TECO natural gas pipeline late Thursday afternoon. The gas leak is from a major line that is too big for fire rescue to repair. TECO was called and made initial repairs.
Only one customer was impacted. TECO will finalize repairs and restore service on Friday.
