TAMPA, Fla. -- One person is dead after a five-car wreck in Tampa on Monday morning.

The Tampa Police Department responded to a call of a crash at the intersection of Columbus Drive near Himes Avenue around 9:30 a.m.

According to TPD, a driver stopped at a red light and was rear ended by another who was approaching the westbound lanes of Columbus Drive. The crash then caused a chain reaction, ultimately leading to a total of five cars being involved, police say.
