PLANT CITY, Fl. – A 21-year-old Seffner woman was killed and her passenger seriously injured early Saturday in a one-vehicle crash in eastern Hillsborough County.

Amanda Cepeda-Duque and Aurelio Espinoza, 25, were both transported to Tampa General Hospital. Cepeda-Duque later died from her injuries; Espinoza is listed in critical condition. The incident occurred just after 3am.

Per a Florida Highway Patrol report, Cepeda-Duque was traveling west on State Road 574 just east of Tanner Road when for unknown reasons her 2007 Chevrolet Sports Utility Vehicle veered off the roadway. It turned over and collided with a fence before coming to rest in the front yard of nearby residence.

Both occupants were ejected.

Investigators say Cepeda-Duque and Espinoza – a Plant City resident – were not wearing seatbelts. It is not yet known if alcohol played a factor as the investigation continues.
