Kanina Eurez has been drinking bottled water for nearly two weeks. She lives in Plant City about eight miles from the Mosaic sinkhole.
"When I initially called him more than a week ago he said you have nothing to worry about you are so far away," said Eurez.
She wasn't satisfied with the answer so she continued calling for testing. Eurez is now scheduled for testing soon, but she said it's hard to trust the test results.
"I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and trust what they are saying, it's difficult to do so," said Eurez.
Mosaic representatives said the contaminated water is contained to the company's property. They helped dozens of home owners get free water tests.
Mosaic testing:
- 690 request for testing
- 191 samples taken
- 30-40 tests per day
Eurez said she would like to have her home's water tested multiple times to ensure it's safe to drink.
"It's a concern, because a lot of times with these types of mishaps sometimes we do not see the long term effect for quite awhile down the road," said Eurez.
