A Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputy saved an elderly couple from an apartment complex fire in Brandon early Monday morning.
Deputies say the call came in around 1 a.m. and they arrived on scene before Hillsborough County Fire Rescue. The entire building at the Park at Siena was evacuated.
One deputy braved the smoke and saved an elderly couple, getting them out of the building safely.
One woman was transported to the hospital for observation. No other injuries were reported.
The building at the apartment complex holds 30 units.
