ORIGINAL STORY | Carol McHugh is known to frequently walk right through her Inverness neighborhood, and it has been the focus of the search for deputies and volunteers. But they've also been scouring the entire area looking for any sign of this missing grandmother.

"It may be hour by hour, and each minute weighs a lot on us, but seeing our brothers and sisters in Citrus County out here, means a lot," said McHugh's granddaughter Danielle Phillips.

Danielle Phillips just flew in from Washington, D.C. to help her family in the search for her grandma, Carol McHugh.  Deputies say the 72-year-old, who has memory issues, went for a walk Thursday afternoon..and hasn't been seen since.

"I'm praying every second of every minute of every hour of every day," Phillips said.

What's giving this family hope is the massive efforts pouring into the search. From horseback, to ATV, and foot patrols, 90 units from several agencies and dozens of volunteers from the community are doing everything they can hoping to bring her home safe.

"It makes you proud of your home to know you have a family here that cares enough about you and your family to bring everything to bear," said Phillips.

Even as time passes and they worry about Carol's condition without food or water, family members and deputies are asking everyone to keep their eyes open, even search their homes and garages for any clues that might help.

"Whatever happens, please, please, for my family, don't give up on us," said Phillips.

A Facebook page was created in hopes of helping to locate McHugh. They are holding events for volunteers ti help search and handout flyers. To view details on the search volunteer event, click here.
