A 38-year-old Ocala man is accused of sexually battering a 16-year-old girl he was babysitting in Inverness on New Year's Eve.
Jeremy Hall is facing sexually battery charges and is being held on $10,000.
According to deputies, the teen told them her mother's friend and Hall, were watching her and her siblings on New Year's Eve when Hall began to make sexual remarks to her.
Hall is accused of touching the teen's breasts, taking off her pants and then sexually battering her in front of a witness, an arrest affidavit shows.
Hall spoke with deputies and denied the allegations.
According to arrest affidavit, Hall told deputies the teen made up the story because her family is about to get evicted. Deputies say they are failing to understand a correlation between eviction and sexual battery.
