The fatal shooting of a Georgia man in the parking lot of a Hernando County Holiday Inn Express has ended with the arrest of a woman the victim met at a strip club.

Jeffrey Lott, 45, was found dead inside his car in the hotel parking lot Thursday morning.

Lott, who was  a guest at the hotel, drove to a bar and then went to an exotic dance club in Pasco County around midnight, according to investigators.

Investigators say Lott spent several hours at Lollipops where he met several people, including the suspect, Kayla Collins.

Deputies say Lott asked Collins to drive his car to a nearby Denny's because he had been drinking.

"They ended up back at the Holiday Inn Express where he was shot several times," said Sheriff Al Nienhuis.

Lott, a construction worker, was found dead in the parking lot.  He'd been shot five times, deputies say.

The Sheriff says Collins drove the victim's car back to Denny's where she made several confessions to female friends that something bad had happened.

Detectives say Collins later dumped the victim's car at a foreclosed home. It was found around noon Thursday along with some of Lott's possessions.

Deputies believe Lott was robbed, adding Collins drove him to an ATM before going to his hotel.

Deputies were on scene within minutes of the shooting, according to the Sheriff, because a patrol unit was nearby and heard the gunshots.

"We are sure she is the one who pulled the trigger," Nienhuis said.

Pasco County deputies arrested Collins Friday morning.

She is now charged with second-degree murder, armed robbery and grand theft auto.
