US 19 reopened Monday morning after a fire at a flooring store Sunday evening in Homosassa closed the highway for hours.
Nine fire trucks, the tower truck, a squad vehicle and three tankers responded to the fire at Great Floors, 6410 S. Suncoast Boulevard.
Fire crews took a defensive attack and were able to contain the fire to the Great Floors and avoided spreading to surrounding businesses.
US 19 was completely closed while fire crew fought the fire. The major thoroughfare was reopened early Monday morning.
No one was hurt in the fire.
Gay Beatzo and her friend Deb Neville owned Fiber Odyssey Yarn.
"This was the happy place," said Beatzo. "We are going to keep on going, that is all I can say, we are going to keep on going."
