CCSO: Hernando man gave girl drugs, raped her

Posted

A 41-year-old Hernando man is accused of getting a 15-year-old Marion County girl high on marijuana and then sexually battering the teen, Citrus County deputies say.

Edward Fonseca, 41, is now charged with felony sexual battery.

Deputies say they began investigating when the girl came forward with allegations of sexual abuse to school authorities back in January.

The teen told authorities Fonseca had picked her up at school and took her to his house for a weekend visit.

According to the teen, once alone with Fonseca they smoked marijuana together and she was taken into the bedroom.

Deputies say the teen did not want to participate in sexual acts with Fonseca but was "too high' to say no.

During an interview, deputies say the teen disclosed a previous incident with Fonseca in years prior where he allegedly asked her to wear his ex-girlfriend's underwear and took pictures of her with his cellular phone.

Fonseca was arrested on September 16.

According to deputies, Fonseca admitted the teen was at his home during the incident timeframes but denied smoking marijuana with the teen and sexually abusing her.
