SPRING HILL, Fla. — The Hernando County Sheriff's Office says there is an increased law enforcement presence in the area of the Circle K gas station located at 14195 Elgin Boulevard in Spring Hill as they investigate a shooting.
The shooting happened just before 7 a.m. in the parking lot of the Circle K gas station. The victim drove himself to the hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies are asking residents to avoid the area and they are searching for the suspect.
The area is less than a mile from Powell Middle School.
Deputies are searching for the shooter and say they are confident the shooter has left the area.
