A 51-year-old Beverly Hills woman is accused of stabbing her father in the back multiple times with a knife.

Corrine Bottila is now charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Citrus County deputies say when they arrived at Bottila's home they found her father covered in blood.  He was flown to Ocala Regional Hospital with life threatening injuries, an arrest affidavit states.

According to deputies, Bottila's father was able to open the front door and reportedly told authorities his daughter ingested pills in an attempt to kill herself.

Bottila was also taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Deputies say when they spoke to Bottila at the hospital, she reportedly told them she has had a lifelong frustration with her father and described him as controlling.

Bottila explained her father had come over to mow her grass and became hasty, an arrest affidavit states.

According to Bottila, her father began trying to help her vacuum and upon doing so, broke a vase in the living room.

Bottila claims her father began berating her and talking down to her, deputies say.

That's when things reached a boiling point.

Deputies say Bottila grabbed a 10 inch knife from the kitchen, walked over to her father who happened to be bent over picking up glass shards from the vase, and repeatedly stabbed her father.

Bottila's father was able to get a hold of the knife and threw in behind the refrigerator, deputies say.

At that point, deputies say Bottila went into her bedroom and tried taking an overdose of medication.

Her father begged her to stop taking the pills as he called 911, deputies say.

Deputies say Bottila's father is stable after undergoing several hours of surgery.
