A 25-year-old Dunnellon man is accusing of battering a pregnant woman.
Cordero McKinnon is now facing felony aggravated battery charges.
Deputies say they were called out to the corner of West Wilburton Drive and Eunice Drive Friday to tend to a pregnant woman.
The woman said she got into a verbal altercation with McKinnon over text messages and the argument turned violent, deputies say.
According to an arrest report, McKinnon told the pregnant woman to leave his home and when she turned to leave, he pushed her on the side of her face, which resulted in a scratch mark.
The woman says when she tried walking out the door, McKinnon pushed her out the door and she fell, scraping her hands and knees, an arrest affidavit states.
McKinnon reportedly knew the woman was pregnant.
While questioned, McKinnon told authorities the woman made up her story, deputies say.
McKinnon is being held without bond.
