A routine traffic stop led to the discovery of 10 pounds of marijuana, Citrus County deputies say.
Lanell Barnes, 34, of Clearwater, is now facing felony drug possession charges.
According to deputies, on Saturday night, they noticed the driver of a blue car leave the Race Trak on South Suncoast Boulevard in Homosassa and subsequently run a stop sign.
Deputies say when a K-9 unit arrived on scene, the dog's alerted to the presence of drugs.
Inside the trunk of the car, deputies say they found a black duffel bag containing 10 individually vacuum sealed baggies filled with marijuana.
According to an arrest report, Barnes admitted the marijuana belonged to him and reportedly confessed he was on a road trip to Marianna to sell the drugs.
Barnes said he intended to sell each bag for $1,050, deputies claim.\
Barnes is being held on $10,000 bond.
