Citrus County deputies say an Inverness man kidnapped and rape a woman who repeatedly rejected his advances.

Gregory Atkins, 30, is facing kidnapping, rape and burglary charges.

Deputies say on September 22, Atkins followed the woman home as she walked her dog.  Once the woman made it to her front door and unlocked it, an arrest report states Atkins walked up behind the woman and pushed her inside.

Once inside, Atkins forced the woman into a bedroom and raped her, deputies say.

According to deputies, when the woman confronted Atkins about the attack along with an undercover officer, Atkins reportedly told the woman he didn't remember what occurred because he had taken Molly, a narcotic.

Atkins also apologized to the woman, an arrest report states.

Atkins is being held without bond.
