A Brooksville bank executive has been charged with fraud.
US Attorney A. Lee Brently said David Donato, 58, used his roles as a Senior Vice President at CenterState Bank and Treasurer of the Hernando Youth League to obtain over $143,000.
According to court documents, Donato obtained five different lines of credit and loans from CenterState bank in the name of the HYL without permission or knowledge from the league.
Investigators said he used the loans for personal expenses between 2011 and 2015.
Donato used approximately $98,420 for personal expenses, including paying his mortgage, credit cards, cell phone and cable bills, according to federal documents.
If convicted, Donato faces a maximum of 30 years in federal prison.
